THE PONY CLUB MOUNTED GAMES PRINCE PHILIP CUP

The Pony Club Mounted Games was first started in 1957 - known as the Prince Philip Cup.

Some 300 teams train from October to the following Spring taking part in their area competitions - the winners go to the Zone Finals (6 spread throughout the country) and the six winners from each final go to the Horse of the Year Show.

The Pony Club is a voluntary youth organisation, to encourage young people to ride and learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with ponies.

The members learn horsemanship and how to care and look after their animal.  The Pony Club also promotes the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self discipline.

The Pony Club was started in 1929 when the Institute of the Horse introduced a junior branch known as the Pony Club.

The Pony Club is divided into branches spread all across Great Britain and Northern Ireland and many countries overseas.

Branches hold rallies and meetings, camps and competitions throughout the year.

Look out for the exciting action in the Main Arena when clubs come head to head.
