THE GARDEN OF ENGLAND VINTAGE MACHINERY CLUB

THE GARDEN OF ENGLAND VINTAGE MACHINERY CLUB
GROUP 35
OF THE NATIONAL VINTAGE TRACTOR & ENGINE CLUB

The Club was founded in March 2001 for the benefit of anyone interested in preserving our rural heritage.

When the Club was first envisaged it was just a group of about a dozen friends joining together in their love of vintage farm machinery and deciding to form a club on an informal basis.  The Club grew quite rapidly with over 100 members joining the first year and they were accepted into NVTEC in December 2001.

The Club exhibits at rallies and shows throughout the summer season - back by popular demand, this is their third year at The Hop Farm.  They hold winter club nights at the Scout Hut in Meopham on the second Monday of each month September to April inclusive with a variety of speakers and social evenings on the last Tuesday of every month throughout the year at The Rising Sun, Cotmans Ash Lane, Kemsing.  The Club also has regular road runs from The Rising Sun, an annual 'Summer Solstice' weekend, ploughing practice, etc.

Membership now stands at over 150 members.  A single membership if £18.50 per annum, joint membership £24.00 (2 adults at the same address), family membership £28.00 (2 adults and 2 children at the same address) and friends and juniors £13.00 (for those who do not want NVTEC membership with their insurance cover and junior members under 14 years of age).

The club prides themselves on being called "the friendly club" and everyone interested - from armchair enthusiasts to full-blown restorers - is made very welcome.

The photograph shows a cross-section of members tractors at Cobtrees Museum of Kent Life at Maidstone.

There will be a static display of vintage machinery and tractors at the show with the tractors also making an appearance in the Main Arena.

Don't miss these magnificent machines.
